Mission:
Sexual Assault Support Services of Midcoast maine is an agency of professionals and trained volunteers dedicated to providing advocacy and support to survivors, families and concerned others affected by sexual assault, sexual abuse and sexual harassment. SASSMM offers services to improve awareness and response by providing prevention, education and risk reduction programs throughout Eastern Cumberland, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Knox and Waldo counties.
General Description of Services:
Established in 1983 our organization provides support and advocacy services in response to all forms of sexual violence regardless of age or gender identification.

Elder Abuse Related Services:
For a number of years SASSMM had a well established 'Abuse in Later Life' advocacy and response program that provided one to one support, various support groups, and extensive outreach to individuals who may have been abused 50 years ago or today. Due to changes in funding SASSMM no longer has dedicated funds to work specifically with outreach services to older adults, however, SASSMM does still provide support services, accompaniments, education, and advocacy for all clients, including the older adults in our communities. All services are free and confidential. We are mandated reporters.
