Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MECASA)

Mission:
The Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault is organized to put an end to sexual violence in Maine, and to ensure that there will be ongoing support and services for victims and survivors.

General Description of Services:
Maine’s sexual assault support centers provide support and advocacy for survivors of sexual violence, their families, and concerned others, including a 24-hour crisis and support line, support groups, crisis intervention and information, and referrals for mental health and other community resources. This includes medical advocacy, and support and advocacy for survivors and survivors’ families who wish to engage with the criminal justice system.

Elder Abuse Related Services:
Maine’s sexual assault support centers provide services to all victims and survivors of sexual violence, their families, and significant others. Our services are available to all persons regardless of age, race, color, creed, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identification, religion, parenthood, political affiliation, or financial status. Some centers provide elder-specific support groups and programming.
